Free Childcare with Cowboys & Angels - 3 to 4 year old Nursery Education Grant
The nursery education grant is available to all three and four year old children from the first term after their third birthday. It means that your child is entitled to a FREE PLACE because the grant covers the cost.
The grant is currently £8.30 per session, so the maximum amounts available are:
What the grant covers
This is easy, all we'll ask you to do is sign a form agreeing to accept a place for your child. We then make the claim on your behave and credit your account once it's paid.

- £529.75 for the summer term (13 wks), beginning 1 April
- £611.25 for the autumn term (14 wks), beginning 1 September
- £407.50 for the spring term (11 wks), beginning 1 January
What the grant covers
- Five 2.5 hour sessions per week at a school nursery during term-time
- Five 2.5 hour sessions per week at a pre-school, playgroup or day nursery during term time
- The maximum number of sessions for a summer term is 65, an autumn term is 75 and a spring term is 50.
- Two 2.5 hour sessions may be taken in one day as long as they are separated by a one hour lunch break.
- Your child can stay at a session for a longer period than 2.5 hours but you will have to pay for the extra time yourself.
- If you are booked in for a session and you don't attend no refunds can be given as we have to staff accordingly as if you were attending.
