Communication, Language & Literacy
This area of learning includes speaking and listening in different situations and for different purposes, opportunities to practice and extend the range of vocabulary and communication skills they use, and to listen carefully. This area of learning provides opportunities for all children to explore, learn about and use words and text in a broad range of contexts and to experience a rich variety of books. Reading and writing for a variety of purposes is of the utmost importance to enable children to communicate meaning and reason in their play.
Cowboys & Angels Play-Learning
The activities we pursue account for the diverse needs of the children in our care, including rest time and quiet, splashing water, play with sand through to talking, singing, working in groups, pairs or individually and leaving then returning to unfinished activities. In this way we create an environment that is truly child focussed allowing children to steer the choice of resources and equipment through the day.
Our educational specialist has planned a comprehensive topic-based programme
to provide stimulating activities addressing the six areas of learning.
